Design Guide: Backyard Design and Decor Ideas

I had the itch to do something with my front and backyards this year - instead of just doing the obligatory spring planting, I decided to have it completely overhauled to be not only drought tolerant but also totally kid friendly.  We are out of water in California so our lawns were dying and something needed to be done.  So - while my front yard is being finished this week, my backyard will be demo'd next week!  So exciting!

In the meantime, to keep myself busy - I'm looking for elements to incorporate into the backyard.  I already have a huge playset for the children scoped out.  I plan on putting in a giant piece of plexiglass so that they could paint on it.  A small area with giant river rocks with water for sensory play.  A large patio with stamped concrete that will hold our outdoor sofa and a dining set as well as a built in bbq is also in the works.

Now, to decide on a color scheme - I'm leaning towards neutrals with pops of color.  Take a look at some of the pretties that I've found for you to easily decorate your outdoor space:

Home Guide - Easy Bathroom Remodel via Pretty Bathroom Accessories

Here's a little secret to redoing your bathroom without having to spend thousands of dollars remodeling it.  New bathroom accessories!  Every two years or so I kinda get the itch to redo the bathrooms - and since we remodeled the whole house only ten years ago - it wasn't like I was going to rip up the whole bathroom!

So, a fresh coat of paint (I love the palette over at Pottery Barn - here are some articles on how to choose a bathroom paint color) plus a new shower curtain, bathroom accessories, and towels will absolutely make you feel like you've got a brand new bathroom!

Some places that I like to find pretty bathroom sets include:

Amazon (they really do have everything!)

Target (tons of choices and very affordable) and save an extra 10% with code:  SPRINGFWD

Pottery Barn (all around pretty and relatively affordable)

Pottery Barn Kids (My kid's bathroom is outfitted in their darling designs)

Anthropologie (really unique, but more on the spendy side)

Horchow (bathroom items more on the luxury end) but right now they have these beautiful Ralph Lauren monogrammed towels for only $13.99!
